Hiking is excellent due to country roads free of traffic lights and a sparsely populated environment offering a tranquil journey to all who venture here.

San Giovanni is perfectly located to visit: Siena, Lake Bolsena Viterbo and the Sea. The closest mid-sized towns are Acquapendene (14km) and Castell' Azzara (9km). It is about 50 minutes from Orvieto, which is an entrance point to the A1 Napoli-Milano autostrada and has a major train station. Siena is about 1 hour North and Viterbo is about 1 hour South. It is about 2 hours to either Roma or Firenze airports.
